The 2025 tour of the annual Fly Fishing Show kicks off this weekend, January 17-19, in Marlborough, MA. The show’s customary first stop will showcase the usual vast array of gear makers, fly shops, specialty dealers, presenters, fly tyers, and much more. This year’s opening act will also feature a record $100,000 in door prizes, to be awarded to a handful of lucky show attendees.
After its long weekend in the Boston suburbs, the tour will visit six additional cities all across the country over the course of a total of nine weeks — a slightly extended tour period as compared to previous years.
“By spreading the seven shows over nine weeks, we hope to ease the travel burden for exhibitors from Europe, Asia, and Latin American countries who need to deal with long flights along with North American companies that are showing new products at multiple shows,” said Ben Furmisky, Fly Fishing Show President and CEO.
For many anglers, the annual tour stops are more about gathering with a like-minded community as they are an opportunity to test cast rods, take in seminars, seek out hard-to-find tying supplies and so on. The show is one of the only events that bring together everyday anglers, celebrated experts and professionals, and industry brands both small and large all under one roof.
As is also customary, the show stops will each serve as stops for the 2025 International Fly Fishing Film Festival (IF4). This year’s IF4 tour features a seven film lineup, including the audience- and critic-acclaimed short, The Silent Spotter. Screenings will take place on Friday nights at most shows.
