Over recent years, a number of fly fishing brands have gotten into the video gig producing videos that introduce customers to their products or provide instruction on a wide variety of fly fishing topics. RIO has been no stranger to video, releasing video tutorials on topics ranging from knot tying to welding your own sink tip loops, with a focus primarily on products like fly lines, leaders and tippets which RIO makes. Recently, RIO announced it is broadening it's video focus in a new twelve part general fly fishing "How To" series.
The series debuts this month with the first episode entitled 'How to Fish a Soft Hackle,' something every trout angler should know and know well, as we've noted before. The first episode's instruction is provided by RIO brand manager Simon Gawesworth.
RIO will release a new episode each month for the next 11 months. The coming lessons in each of the series subsequent videos will be offered by RIO employees or RIO brand ambassadors.
Upcoming in future episodes are topics such as “How To Mend”, “How to Learn to Double Haul”, “How To Set The Hook”, and “How To Fish A Dry Fly”. You can watch the first episode of the series below. As new episodes are released, you'll be able to find them here on RIO's website.
