Last winter my dad and I decided we wanted to catch something other than trout on the fly rod, so we planned a trip to Canada in pursuit of trophy pike. We each bought ourselves a 10 weight rod and loaded up on huge, flashy streamers. After a 20 hour drive and a short flight on a float plane we arrived at our destination. The next five days were spent fighting monster northerns. My biggest was this 45 incher that pulled the boat all over the lake, but after a tough twenty minute battle, we finally netted the longest and heaviest fish I've ever caught on the fly.
